Authors: William Carney & Breanna Lane

William Carney is a Professor at Cameron University and manages internships with a focus in writing. He has published articles on the teaching of English, public discourse, and service learning. Professor Carney holds a PhD from Texas Tech University.

Breanna Lane is a graduate of Cameron University with a degree in English. She worked on Cameron University internship projects on a number of different topics including a guide for the Wichita Mountains and a course manual for our Computing and Technology Department Capstone course internship project. She presently works as a writer and editor for Raytheon Corporation in Lawton Oklahoma. 

This book provides an overview of the internships and service learning courses at Cameron University that cater to English and Communications majors and minors. It provides an overview of past course projects, a thorough discussion of the value of internships, and a preview of the type of writing you will be expected to perform in the course. These are writing-intensive courses and this brief handbook provides some helpful guidance at navigating the different types of writing you will do.
