About the Author:
Dr. Mary L. Lo Re is a Professor of Finance at Wagner College’s Nicolais School of Business having previously held the following leadership positions at the Institution: Dean of Adult Education & Extension Programs, Interim Associate Provost, Chair of the Department of Business Administration, Director of MBA Programs, and Director of Assessment.
She obtained her Ph.D. from CUNY Graduate Center specializing in Monetary Theories & Policies and International Trade. She has: written/obtained several external/internal grants; numerous newspaper/media community and student involvement mentions; presented and published journal articles in the areas of: EU/EMU economic convergence & the economic financial crisis; civic engagement/service-learning; best practices such as writing across the curriculum; recently authored two book chapters—“Service-Learning Community: A Win for Students, Community, Institution & Faculty” in Service-Learning Pedagogy: How Does It Measure Up? and “Balancing Management & Leadership” in The Resource Handbook for Academic Deans; and is the author of the book, Experiential Civic Learning: Construction of Models & Assessment.
Prior to academia, Dr. Lo Re obtained 17 years of practical business experience—including 9 years in computer technology and 5 years in executive management—working at American Express, the United Nations, and the Board of Education.
