About The Author

Kristi Sabo is a Professor of Air Traffic Control at Green River Community College in Auburn, Washington. She has over fifteen years of air traffic control and aviation experience. Professor Sabo received her AA in Business Administration and her AAA in Air Traffic Control from Green River Community College (1983). She was then hired by the FAA where she trained in enroute ATC at Salt Lake City ARTCC, worked in several VFR towers and Tri-Cities Approach Control during her thirteen year career. During her FAA career, Ms. Sabo was a facility union representative, participated in the collaborative management program, Quality Through Partnership, and taught pilot communication classes. After taking time to raise her children, Professor Sabo returned to ATC in the classroom at Green River, teaching the Terminal Aviation class.

About The Book

Simply Aviation: An Introduction to Pilot & Controller Communication is a supplementary text to be used for quick reference and easy reading. It is designed to complement the study of newer pilots and foreign students learning the ATC language and expanding their English proficiency. It is also intended for those aspiring to become air traffic controllers. The internet and Youtube have helped to bring ATC communications right to our doorstep, but it is still too large a step for students to understand what they are hearing. Likewise there are many texts and the FAA's manual, but a simple entry level text has been missing until now. Simply Aviation is here to fill this gap; enjoy!
